Case Study: Supporting Futures Music’s $6M Capital Raise Through Financial Modelling

April 27, 2026
Building the Financial Foundation for Scale
Over the past year, we worked closely with the team at Futures Music to design and implement a fully integrated financial model and advisory framework to support both internal decision-making and external capital raising. At its core, the engagement focused on building a model that wasn’t just technically sound—but usable, flexible, and aligned with how the business actually operates.
1. End-to-End Financial Modelling
We developed a dynamic, investor-ready financial model that:
  • Captured detailed revenue and cost drivers across the business
  • Integrated multiple operating entities into a consolidated view
  • Provided clear visibility into cash flow, runway, and capital requirements
This became the central tool for both internal planning and external investor communication.
2. Structuring Complex Music Economics
Futures operates in a space where financial modelling is inherently more complex than traditional SaaS or service businesses.
Key areas of focus included:
  • Album-level forecasting across a diversified catalog
  • Artist recoupment mechanics, ensuring accurate representation of payouts and timing
  • Modelling catalog investments and adjacent initiatives alongside core operations
  • Creating a structure that could evolve as new deals and assets were added
The goal was to translate these nuances into a model that was both technically rigorous and easy to navigate.
3. Integration with Existing Financial Systems
To ensure accuracy and continuity, we:
  • Integrated QuickBooks Online (QBO) actuals directly into the model
  • Worked alongside the company’s existing accounting firm to align on structure and assumptions
  • Built processes that allowed for ongoing updates and iteration, not just a static output
This ensured the model remained a living tool, not a one-time deliverable.
