I'm humbled to share that I was named a recipient of the 2023 CPA Ontario Emerging Leader Award, presented at the CPA Ontario Emerging Leaders Award ceremony on March 21, 2024.

The Emerging Leader Award celebrates exceptional young members of CPA Ontario under 35 who are leaders in their companies, communities and industries. Nominated by their peers, recipients are innovative strategic thinkers who have made outstanding professional and community contributions early in their careers. It's an honour I don't take lightly — the calibre of CPAs recognized through this program is genuinely inspiring, and being counted among them means a great deal.

The recognition touches on work that goes beyond client files: the Entrepreneur-in-Residence role at MaRS Discovery District, and the scholarships we established at BCIT for high-performing accounting students. It's a reminder that the most meaningful work often happens outside the model.

I started Kwantum because I believed there was a better way to support early-stage founders — one that didn't require them to choose between quality financial guidance and the capital constraints of building something from scratch.

The award recognizes CPAs under 35 who are socially responsible leaders, innovators, and change-makers — and that framing resonates with how I think about this work. The best outcomes I've been part of weren't just financial closes. They were moments where a founder felt genuinely supported through the hardest parts of building their company.

To everyone who has been part of this journey — clients, teammates, mentors, and ecosystem partners — thank you. This one belongs to all of you as much as it does to me.
